The VelvetLens - Story
VelvetLens - we’re not reinventing the wheel, but we’re here to make it better - that’s how it all started.
But let’s get back to the name. It’s nothing new either, but while petting a cat during a lens firmware update, one thing led to another. Simple, but that’s just how it happened.
We could have chosen a web address ending in .com or something similar, but the .app extension was a deliberate choice.
The .app extension is meant to make it clear that my site is also available as a smartphone app and can be easily installed for free, without us having to throw money at the app store operators.
This way, you can explore the art of eroticism and respect anytime, anywhere - and be a part of it.
But why just launch yet another adult entertainment platform? Why go through all the work and incur the costs of setting up your own site?
Quite simply, because it was just the way it was for me: no matter where you go, no matter where you present your profile and content, the money flows in directions where we don’t know what happens to it - or to our data.
Creators and models work out of greed, and some of the resulting behavior sets off alarm bells: disrespectful treatment, coercion, and pressure.
The world of eroticism is so vast and is just as much a part of life as all our other needs - it’s just that a respectful and honest approach to it has largely been lost.
All of this led me to simply create a platform of my own where I can ensure that the models are treated with respect, that they’re well taken care of, and that the productions are as true to life as possible.
I can’t save the others anymore, but I can try to do better! But I can’t do it alone.
And so, that desire became the beginning of my own website.
After weeks of planning and programming, I was finally able to launch the site on July 4, 2026—with a few teething problems at first, but day by day, with the help of loyal customers, I’ve turned it into such a solid and wonderful site.
New little issues still pop up every now and then, but that’s all part of the process - it’s how we get better every day, refining the details to offer our members more and more. We grow through these challenges.
Here’s a simple breakdown of what happens with the revenue:
1. First and foremost, fees and expenses for new photo shoots
2. Investments in equipment upgrades and operating costs
3. Hopefully, toward building future reserves for the expansion of a Safe Model Network.
4. Toward securing my own livelihood, because without that, none of 1–3 will come to fruition.
I don’t want to write a novel here - I just want to give you some insight into the why and how.
Enjoy it! #respectwomen
